Plasma Engineer

InnoFlex is a climate tech startup, developing air cleaning solutions on an industrial scale. Our core technology, based on (enhanced) photocatalytic processes, can break down various pollutants using little energy input. We work together with established clients from different industries such as agriculture and semiconductors and are developing a novel approach for efficient degradation of inert fluorinated green-house gases based on the synergy between plasma and (photo)catalysts. Therefore, we are seeking an experienced Plasma Engineer to join our team.

As a Plasma Engineer, you will play an essential role in the research and development of plasma sources and hybrid photocatalytic reactors. You have hands-on experience in setting up plasma reactors of different kinds, plasma diagnostic tools and want to apply these skills to make prototype reactors that can enable catalysis of high-barrier chemical reactions and effectively break down stable pollutants. You will develop highly efficient plasma catalytic reactors and then translate these into high volume reactors to be tested in line with our industrial partners.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and troubleshoot new scalable plasma sources for plasma-catalytic reactors for enhanced gas-phase photocatalysis.
  • Evaluate the electrical performance of plasma sources.
  • Optimize the reactor parameters for performance and tailor production of plasma-born molecular/atomic species for process-specific needs.
  • Collaborate with external academic and industrial partners
  • Ensure activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for:

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Plasma Physics, or a related field with proven experience within industry or through Postdoc/PhD.
  • Experience in designing, building, and electrical characterization of plasma sources.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques for plasma optical characterization, such as OES and LIF spectroscopies.
  • Experience in plasma-chemistry, plasma-catalysis and related modeling would be a strong asset.
  • Strong problem-solving, research methodology, and team collaboration skills.

How to apply
